HISTORY

1946〜1991

1946 Founded as a private company at 636 Nishishindachi-mura.
1952 Reorganized as Jogan Towel Factory Ltd.
1971 Full automation of towel weaving machines completed.
1972 Reorganized as Jogan Towel Inc.
1979 Merchandise Center established at 1428-5 Okada, Sennan City.
1982 Company name changed to Jogan Co., Ltd.

1992〜2009

1992 Six new air jet looms added.
1997 Full airflow system installed at the head factory, nonstop operations begin.
Eight electronic jacquard-equipped TOYOTA air jets added.
2002 Akihiko Jogan, Representative Director, becomes President of the Japan Towel Manufacturers Association.
2007 Akihiko Jogan becomes Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Kazumasa Semba becomes President and Representative Director.
2009 The Kansai Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry certifies Jogan as a business that utilizes regional industrial resources.
Sweet KI. RA RA, a pearl-kneaded fiber, is released.

2010〜2018

2010 Eco de non-twisted yarn is developed.
Release of Senshu Soorian Takumi Series
2011 Start of export sales to China.
2012 Permanent sales counters start to open in Chengdu, China for products developed by Jogan.
Chinese trademarks obtained for [成願], [JOGAN], [真珠の恵み(Pearl Blessing)], [和心傳 (Washinden)], [sweet KIRARA], and [MOTHER OF ORGANIC].】
2013 Approval received from the Osakafu Prefectural Federation of Small Business Associations for the Program to Support Trial Production and Development for Small and Medium-Sized Manufacturing Enterprises and Small Businesses.
2014 New warping machine introduced, two-machine system established.
Introduction of 2 TOYATA JAT810 (made in Japan) air jet looms (latest model) and 2 STAUBLI SX (made in France) electronic Jacquards completed.
2015 Installed the latest double head automatic sewing machine.
Approval received for the 3rd consecutive year from the Osakafu Prefectural Federation of Small Business Associations for the Program to Support Trial Production and Development for Small and Medium-Sized Manufacturing Enterprises and Small Businesses.
Began sales of the Instant Water Absorption series.
2016 Manufacturing floor automated air-conditioning system updated.
Manufacturing floor energy-saving lighting and power equipment updated.
2017 Contract with American textile brand COTTON+STEEL.
Development and release of COTTON+STEELxJOGAN, under a collaborative project.
2018 Instant Water Absorption series gloves are picked up by the media and becomes a hot topic.
Announcement and sales release of the Ultra Light Towel made of woven Japanese paper yarn.

2019〜2021

2019 Release of JOGAN GAUZE, combining Jogan proprietary technology and traits.
2020 Responded to COVID-19 emergency with gauze fabrics and gauze masks.
2021 Announcement and sales release of two new series of towels, Air Feeling towels that "fly through the sky," and 100% linen towels, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Jogan's founding.
Major construction work is carried out in the factory to strengthen the company's production system and upgrade facilities to increase efficiency.
2022 Introduction Itema's (Italy) R9500terry Rapier Weaving Machine.
Introduction of STAUBLI SXB/2688 (French) electronic Jacquard.
Licensing contract with designer Akiko Obuchi.
